2015 Award
Corolle Les Cheries Camille Riviera
(Corolle $54 Score:)

This year's Les Cheries dolls collection offer a tempting variety of choices. They are all 13-inches and can wear any of the many beautifully fashioned clothes in the Les Cheries collection. Camille Riviera is oo-la-la and ready for the South of France. She wears a high-fashion trouser combo, with a big brimmed  hat, scarf and sandals. Her friend, Les Cheries Clara is ready for the holiday party in a festive gold and white dress with a designer purse and gold flats. She has hazel sleeping eyes and long, silky red hair. Les Cheries Chloe Salon de The is all dressed up for teatime in Paris. She wears a tonal pink blouse and pants topped with a fashionable collarless grey jacket and accessorized with a tassel-trimmed bag and matching oxford-style shoes. Or choose Les Cheries Chloe Ballerina, dressed in a sparkly pink tutu set. Chloe's silky hair can be worn down or styled up. Marked 4 & up we think these will be enjoyed by slightly older girls who can better manage their lovely clothes.

2015 Award
Sam, Your 1960s Girl
(A Girl for All Time $109.99 Score:)

Sam, a fashion plate of the 1960s is the newest of the historic dolls in the A Girl for All Time Collection. A 16-inch beauty, Sam wears a stylish denim mini dress with a bold yellow vinyl flower and cuffs with matching yellow shoes that stand out against her orange tights. Her dark hair and eyes are a perfect foil for her bright orange mod hair band. Like others in the collection she comes with her own book that captures the decade and gives young readers a bit of the colorful madness of the 1960s. Sam's story is rather elaborate; she is Parisian with an obsession with fashion who is about to visit London's famous Carnaby Street where the Beatles shopped and then she's off to visit her uncle in Greenwich Village.

2015 Award
Journey dolls 2015
(Toys R Us $39.99 each Score:)

This year's Journey dolls are off to Italy! Ciao! As always they are beautifully fitted out for their new adventure. Not only do they all have different colored hair, these girls are individuals. Each has a unique face with no look-alikes in the crowd. Mikaella is wearing brocaded silvery trousers with a purple sweater trimmed with silver embroidery. Her long auburn hair in a side braid is ready for styling. She likes cooking and baking. Maybe in Italy she'll master homemade pasta! She and her friends are going on a side trip to the Leaning Tower of Pisa, they’ll tour the Coliseum in Rome and in Venice they'll ride in a Gondola. Bring on the Gelato! Meredith, is a blonde beauty who loves sports. She's dressed for going out on the town in a white skirt, blue knit pullover and hot pink bag and matching shoes. Callie, a dancer, is an Asian American girl with beautiful black hair. She's dressed in a pink eyelet zippered jacket, matching hair band, a black velvet skirt, white tee and pink shoes. Kelsey, a stunning redhead, is an outdoor type but for Italy, she is done up in a denim blue embroidered dress with a poofy black headband and black shoes and handbag. Kyla is an artist dressed in a hot pink wrap skirt with a tee that says Ciao! She is a girl of color with brownish hair and hazel eyes. Dana is an animal lover who wears dark rimmed glasses that match her dark brown hair. She is wearing a fake fur vest over a grey knit sweater and jeans with her high brown boots and animal print tote. Chavonne is perhaps the most striking of the group; a talented singer, a girl of color with glorious Afro style hair and hazel eyes. She's wearing floral pants, a striped tee and a hot pink jacket with big white buttons.

2015 Award
Tween Scene Kimani Prettie Girl Doll
(One World Doll Project $29.99 Score:)

One of a new collection of Prettie Girls, only younger looking than earlier models. Meet Kimani, a tween and a creative type, dressed in colorful floral tights, a pink and white cut-off top, yellow rain boots and matching bag. Inspired by her childhood love of Barbie and a career that started with designing dolls of color for Mattel, Stacey McBride-Irby introduced her first Prettie dolls as young women; these Tweens are larger than a Barbie, but clearly designed to look like girls not women. Like girls of color, the Tween Scene Prettie Girls come in varying skin tones and hair. Consider Valencia, Dahlia, and Lena, other Prettie girls in this collection. Marked 3 & up, we think they will make a hit with slightly older girls.

Manhattan Toy Lovies Payton Puppy
(Manhattan Toy $12 Score:)

You can find this adorable black and white pooch in three sizes, each with a slightly crooked face and angular ears that stand up and make him all the more appealing. He's done in silky plush, has pellets inside so he can sit on his lightly weighted bottom. We have the 5.5 handful and the one marked large. Either will be a perfect huggable to take wherever your toddler is off to. This is one of those classics that both boys and girls like to take wherever they go.  They have no agenda or tricks. Like a good old teddy bear or floppy bunny, Payton Puppy will listen to whatever a child has to say and do whatever he's told. He'll be completely loving with no questions as to who is the boss.
