Book has some patterns and materials to get started. 8 & up. Also top-rated, Sun Paint (4˝), a crafty book with a supply of fabric paints, brush, and three cotton scarves to dye in the sun. Features a clever design that keeps your colors pure without having to wash them off in between color selections. The designs include florals, jungle, space, and under the sea themes. There are also clear illustrations for different uses of stencils such as bookmarks, wrapping paper, note cards.

Clear recipes with photos to make the words even easier to follow, make this is an interesting cookbook. The recipes are from around the world without being too exotic. They just might make for some adventurous tasting parties. Most of these will require adult assistance and supervision. Still this is another way to give kids an enlarged view of the world. Recipes are highlighted with interesting facts about the culture. 8 & up.
