Important Advisory:
We are now requiring companies to provide us with documentation that their products have been tested by an independent lab for phthalates and lead.
Please click here for submission requirements for new products. However, as we are not a lab, we will not be independently verifying those
results. Also, with the exception of the 2008 Platinum Toy Awards, toys
submitted for review prior to January 2008 were not tested for lead.

Once again, Annie Kubler takes a vintage nursery rhyme and illustrates it with toddlers…this time in costumes. Turning a nonsense rhyme into a playful little romp. Very cute. Also very special her new version of This Little Piggy and Wee Willie Winkie, with babies in the illustrations that add humor to the authentic rhymes. 1 & up. Age:

Mommy, Carry Me Please!
|
(by Jane Cabrera,
Holiday House$$6.95$
)
What little child has not asked to be carried, please. This little board book has a slew of creatures, each asking their mommies to carry them in their own particular way...in a kangaroo's pouch, on a spider's back, in a tiger's mouth. You might even call this a young science book for beginners. As always, Jane Cabrera's bright colorful illustrations add much to the book. Also fun, Cabrera's Old Mother Hubbard. Age:
Toddler.

Story Sounds Noisy Farm
|
(,
Soft Play
$$19.95$
)
Interactive books with sounds are not usually high on our list. But, this is one of a series that really works well. Little Pig is looking for his mom. For the young listener the fun is in finding Mommy pig by pushing the plush heads of a cow, hen, sheep and horse who help piglet find his Mama. Just a little touch activates the moo, baa, cluck and neigh as Piglet fins his way to the one who says oink. Also fun, the Noisy Jungle book and Noisy Pals. These are all fun choices for 2’s and up. Age:
Toddler.

Ten Little Fingers and Ten Little Toes
|
(by Mem Fox/ illus. by Helen Oxenbury,
Harcourt
$$16$
)
Adorable babies born all over the world introduce the world of multiculturalism to the youngest lapsitter. A repetitive refrain links them together with their commonality…“as everyone knows had ten little fingers and ten little toes.” Oxenbury’s illustrations are delicious and will be fun to explore and talk about with your own little one. They say 3-5, we’d suggest this will be enjoyed by toddlers who love seeing babies like themselves in books. 18 months and up.
Age:
Toddler,
Preschool.
