Storybook Treasures, Young Artist Collection Featuring Zin! Zin! Zin! A Violin
( Scholastic $24.99 Score: )

Another excellent three-disk set of DVD storybooks of mostly recycled stories held together by the theme of the arts. On the lead DVD you will find the title story, Zin! Zin! Zin! A Violin, which is an award winning book that only got better with the addition of music and animation. On the same disk you'll find other musical stories such as The Star Spangled Banner, Musical Max, Keeping House, Patrick and Apt. 3. Disk 2 is all about art and The Dot is one of our Platinum winners; about a little girl who thinks she cannot draw. Also on this disk are Art, Ish, Norman the Doorman and Wallace's Lists. Disk 3 is about performing and deals with stage fright and other feelings with Shrinking Violet, Three Cheers for Catherine, Giraffes Can't Dance and Amazing Grace. If you own other Storybook Treasures you may want to check the full list carefully so that you are not buying a lot of duplicates. This is one of the problems with the series. Many of the stories appear in more than one collection.  That said, it is still the best bet in children's video.
