We’ve told you about the Leap Start activity books and library in the past, this updated version comes with a stylus that reads invisible dots on every page, making the new books more interactive with questions, songs, and jokes. In addition to books featuring TV pop characters like the Trolls and PAW Patrol, they have added books that introduce phonics lessons with vowels and consonants. We wish there were more real storybooks with the kind of stories and art found in trade books. Although the Leap Start was introduced as a learning system for young children ( it’s marked 2-7) it appears that the lessons here are more like early school skills. We don’t think 2’s who are just beginning to talk are ready for phonics lessons.
