Creativity for Kids Pom Pom Rug

When completed, this looks like a hooked rug, but requires no special hook needle. Instead kids make dozens of pom-poms with the thick yarn supplied and simple cardboard form that they wrap the yard onto and tie. Once the pom-poms are cut they are tied onto the round mesh form. Their pom-poms can be arranged in a design or a letter or a unique open-ended scatter of color. The scissor that comes in the kit works, but it's not very sharp and may be somewhat frustrating since the yarn is thick and flossy and hard to snip through. We think you may end up having to use a sharper household scissor. Marked for 7 and up, we think 7’s and most 8’s will need a good bit of help with tying the pom-poms together and then onto the mesh. That said, this makes for a fun parent-child kit or solo kit for older kids with a nice end product they will enjoy having.
