Mindware SuperKid In Training Set

(Mindware $24.99)

Although it’s anything but open-ended, we think boys and girls will like the interaction of this active pretend superhero “game” that is designed to be a parent/child activity. Use it with one child on a rainy day or outdoors with as many as five kids ( who will have to wait their turn). There's only one cape and one set of wrist bands, a target, a lightning bolt, and a super mask. Not all the accessories are worn at once. The double-sided action cards tell what accessories are needed and what the challenge is for your little hero. Have the player choose a card of each color and set them up in their stands. Now, read the cards to the player and let the fun begin. The actions are relatively simple and do-able, while building a sense of can-do. Playing a full round takes some recall and plenty of big muscle action…a winning combination for preschoolers. For parents, this is a game that allows some sit down time for mom or dad while cheering their young hero(s) on the move. 4 & up.
