Think of this as the ultimate add-on for your child’s wooden train set. It is a set unto itself with a smart engine and car, three tunnels, and a passenger walkway bridge that the train can go under. It has 8 curved wooden tracks and a two-way track for changing off to another roadbed. Kids can arrange the tunnels and station and thanks to the interactive technology the train will stop, honk its horn, back up and blink its lights...all depending on how the tunnels are arranged and the buttons on top of the engine. We do still like trains that run totally by kid power, but this is an extra that will reignite interest or add to the already existing fascination that many have with wooden trains. Brio also made a three piece smart train and Tunnel set, that is a smaller version of this to add to existing sets, but it was instantly sold out and not likely to be available for the holidays. 3 & up.
