LEGO FRIENDS continues to be a favorite of our school-aged builders. The Friendship House is a multi-level build with 722 pieces (so not for a beginner) and comes with three mini-figs: Emma, Olivia and Andrea. There are lots of interesting aspects to this build including a pulley for bringing things up to the roof deck. The activities include bike riding, BBQ, music, computer and video gaming. We love the multi-cultural cast of mini-figs for LEGO FRIENDS. It's so important to get girls building -- this collection is often a great way to introduce them to construction toys. There is also a Disney Princess Castle this year. If pink is the only way your daughter will get started, go for it. Better to build castles than not to build at all.

Mia's Organic Food Market (115 pieces but an easier build than the Soccer Practice).
