Oh, wow, if you have an aspiring singer in the house—this is the gift of gifts! It’s a sturdy karaoke machine with all the bells and whistles they could want. There’s a strobe light that flickers on the ceiling with many different lights, built in music and lyrics on a song sheet, OR load it with your own music from itunes on any smart phone. There’s even a magic music button that turns down (mostly) the vocalist and lets the in-house singer take over while the instrumental music accompanies them. The directions tell you that the magic button does not work with all recordings—we have to say honestly the magic button hardly works, but you can turn the sound down and hearing the words can help, since the machine does not give you lyrics on the screen. The stand is somewhat gender-fied…its black with purple and pink trim, but hey, that’s show biz! The stand can hold the mike, it has a music rack, and you can lower the stand for preschoolers up to tweens. Finally…this even has built-in applause…just in case your friends are not available. 5 and up.
