Previews of the Best Toys from Toy Fair 2025

The new season of toys begins at the International Toy Fair in NYC. Hundreds of companies introduce what they hope will be the hot toys for the year and holiday season.

For us, it's the beginning of our process to find the very best toys for each age group. All but one of these toys is a prototype -- so we'll have to wait and see if the final production lives up to the promise of what we've previewed.

The trends for 2025 were very clear.

1. Many toys are twists on toys of the past. Toy makers are hoping parents will want to share toys they enjoyed as kids.

2. Characters rule. You'll find a lot of popular tv characters in toy land. Our job is to look beyond the license and make sure the game or toy is fun and engaging.

3. Lots of great games -- it looks like 2025 is going to be a banner year for family games. Always a good trend in our book.
