Crayola Ultimate Light Board
(Crayola $24.94) One of the best art activity sets of the year! Our testers love the options with this light up board. You can have it sit in your lap or have it stand up (it has feet that can be turned so you can stand it up. The set comes with five dry erase markers that really light up with saturated color. You draw on the top plastic board -- and you can either leave the black board in or pull it out and have a clear "easel" to work on. You can also put something below the clear plastic and trace a design. This aspect of the toy allows kids to create more detailed designs than drawing freehand.
There's also a light switch that allow you to create a changing light show of your designs. Marked 6 & up, but this will be enjoyed by older tweens as well.
Our parents also like that the markers can fit in the back of the board for storage -although you will probably need to assist your child in getting them out.
