Our tester “ooed & ahhhed” over the metal charms included in this craft kit for making as many as 20 Friendship Bracelets. Some of the metal charms are colorfully painted and some ore golden like the heart charm that opens for pictures inside. The bracelets are not the complicated macramé patterns that would be too hard for early school kids. These involve simple braiding and come with a goodly supply of pastel threads, beads, and threaders, plus a display stand to hold the finished bracelets. The kit includes a sunny/rainbow to hold the threads in place while kids braid, knot, and accessorize with charms and beads! After creating their DIY friendship bracelets, they can add them to the slots between the sun rays and the cloud bumps to display. Nice for a play date with plenty of supplies to share or for rainy day projects. Requires eye hand and fine motor skills as well as patience—all important skills to learn while they’re at it. 7 & up
