Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn 3-in-1 On the Go Camper
(Fisher-Price $49.99)
For your beginning walker, this push toy is not weighted, but remarkably stable. The walker itself is also a pretend play setting with a shape sorter, play food, a coffee pot rattle and cup, a fishing pole with ratcheting sound when you spin the reel, lots of play food and even fresh catch fish for the cooler. There are buttons to push that will make things happen—lights, sounds and music. Although this has three levels of play, we think the main reason to buy it is the walker. We’re not sure how many toddling babies who will play with this setting will understand anything about camping. Walking? Yes. Maps, alphabet and shapes? Maybe not yet. Note, there is a surprising amount of assembly needed. It’s a big box toy with all the parts from wheels to handle that need to be snapped into place. Built for container ships, more and more toys are coming this way. Marked 9-36 months, we’d say more like 12-24 months.
