Hypertiles

Our school aged testers loved exploring the Hypertiles system. The set comes with 48 tiles that have a web/grid pattern and 80 small plastic connectors. The company notes that each tile is a hyperbolic parabaloid- which is a special mathematical shape. Our testers were more interested in what they could build. Marked 5 & up, we think the sweet spot for this is more 8 & up. You do need to have fine motor skills to add the plastic connectors. A true STEM toy that provides builders with a hands on experience in non-Euclidean geometry. Don't worry -- there will be no test here - just fun.
