What could be better than one robot? How about three? This versatile construction toy with 53 wooden pieces has a variety of play values. First of course, there is the building by following the step by step clear directions. Or not. Once they get the hang of how the pieces work, the robots can be redesigned into unique and child designed new models. The kit includes a special screwdriver, the only tool needed to construct the robots, each robot , when complete, is 7-inches tall. Once constructed, the three rolling Robots can be used for dramatic play. Made of wood and finished with non-toxic paints and dyes, these action figures will likely inspire a good deal of pretend stories. Marked 3-6, we’d say threes and many fours will find the construction hard and need adult assist. We think the true sweet spot for this challenging set is more at the upper end, 5s and 6s.
