Mattel Uno Quartro
(Mattel $17.99)
Welcome to Uno meets Connect Four! Our testers liked the change of pace from traditional Uno to this “Connect Four style game. Instead of cards you’re playing with plastic tiles and a playing board grid. The object is to add tiles and get four in a row (vertically, horizontally or diagonally) with the same numeral or the same color. This may seem simple until someone plays an action tile that calls for turning a column or pushing the bottom tile out. This can, of course, change the whole game! It’s what makes it fun and challenging, too. It’s all about matching and seeing ahead to connecting four tiles. Unlike other variations on Uno, this takes no batteries and may appeal not just to kids, but good family game night fun.
